My French Learning Journey at ACCORD Paris: A Transformative Experience
By Britta, German student studying French in Paris
Bonjour à tous!
My name is Britta, and I’m a German student who recently spent four incredible weeks in Paris to improve my French. As someone who had a good level of spoken French but struggled with writing, I knew I needed a structured and intensive French course to help me overcome my weaknesses. That’s why I chose the Intensive French Course ‘D’ at the ACCORD French Language School in Paris, highly recommended by PARIS-MOVE, and I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!
Why I Chose ACCORD’s Intensive French Course ‘D’
When I first arrived in Paris, I was excited but also a little nervous. I could hold conversations in French, but writing essays, emails, or even simple texts felt like a daunting task. I knew that improving my written French would be essential for my higher studies and future career, so I needed a course that would focus on this specific skill.
ACCORD’s Intensive French Course ‘D’ was the perfect fit for me. With 29 hours of French classes per week, it offered a balanced mix of general French lessons and specialized sessions dedicated to writing and grammar.
Every morning, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday to Friday, I attended 20 hours of general French classes. These sessions were dynamic and interactive, focusing on speaking, listening, and reading comprehension. The class sizes (we were 10 in my morning classes) allowed me to practice speaking confidently and learn from my classmates, who were from 6 different nationalities.
But what truly made a difference for me were the French afternoon classes on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. These three weekly sessions were entirely dedicated to written French and grammar. The teachers were incredibly patient and knowledgeable, breaking down complex French grammar rules and helping me structure my thoughts on paper. We worked on everything from sentence construction and verb conjugations to writing formal letters and essays. These written French classes were challenging, but they were exactly what I needed to strengthen my writing skills.
The Progress I Made
In just four weeks, I noticed a huge improvement in my French. My confidence in writing in French grew exponentially, and I no longer felt overwhelmed when faced with a blank page. I learned how to express myself clearly and accurately in French, and my grammar skills improved significantly. Even my spoken French benefited from the intensive practice, as the morning classes encouraged me to think quickly and communicate effectively.
What I loved most about ACCORD was the supportive and motivating environment. The teachers were always available to answer questions, and the staff made sure that every student felt welcome.
Why I Recommend ACCORD’s Intensive French Course ‘D’
If you’re a student like me, with a good level of spoken French but weaknesses in writing, I cannot recommend ACCORD’s Intensive French Course ‘D’ enough. The combination of general French lessons and specialized writing classes is incredibly effective, and the intensive schedule ensures that you make rapid progress.
This French course is perfect for anyone who needs to quickly improve their written French, whether for academic or professional purposes. The skills I gained during these four weeks will undoubtedly help me in my higher studies and future career, and I’m so grateful for the experience.
My Future Plans with my French and with ACCORD
