PARIS-MOVE, July 12th 2023 – Sidney Jacobs is one of the artists who has made the biggest impression on me in recent years. In 2022, I wrote about his album “If I Were a Woman,” which you can read about here.
Since then, Sidney Jacobs has been releasing music videos like his latest one, “Stayin’ Alive,” which is a cover of the iconic song we all remember from our youth. In this regard, very few artists have the ability to make us dream again, unless they possess the talent and artistic skills of an artist like Sidney Jacobs. He completely deconstructs the song while making it incredibly melodic, and we are truly fascinated, especially when we realize that he is performing all the voices and playing all the instruments in his interpretation.
Certainly, you might say that managing the voice as an instrument is not something new, and Sidney is not the first to embark on such an endeavor. However, he has modernized it and turned it into a distinct style of singing, infusing it into his own creations or recreations like this one, where we can speak of a complete reimagining of “Stayin’ Alive”.
