Après la parenthèse inattendue des Fleurs Du Mal, travaillée en “indépendant”, THERION revient en odeur de sainteté chez Nuclear Blast avec un set de 3 DVD live correctement calibré. Le premier d’entre eux, instantané du show “20ème anniversaire” du groupe à Budapest en 2007, est assurément le joyau du coffret. Sur une large scène gardée par deux diablesses à tête de cerf et de bouc, THERION joue “Theli” (1996) et seize autres de ses titres emblématiques avec son meilleur line-up de vocalistes. Lori Lewis, spinto soprano à taille corsetée et poitrine rebondie, fait montre d’une maitrise ahurissante. Le versatile Snowy Shaw assure chant et show, condamné au pilori (“Wisdom And The Cage”) ou bête immonde avec jambières en poils de yéti (“Preludium”). “Mr. Therion himself” Christofer Johnsson a même invité du pro (Messiah Marcolin, prêtre défroqué de Candlemass) et de l’amateur (Piotr Wawrzeniuk) pour les passages heavy. Le deuxième disque, réalisé avec des moyens plus chiches au Prog’ Power d’Atlanta en 2011, présente un nouveau visage et une nouvelle voix en la personne de Linnéa, fille de Thomas Vikström, chanteur brillant et népotique auquel le programme Amazing Voice du DVD n°3 est consacré.
