Merci, Monsieur Marsalis, pour cette belle idée de mettre en valeur les chanson de Sesame Street, remplissant ainsi si parfaitement votre mission de mettre en avant des œuvres qui pourraient disparaître sans être mises en lumière aujourd’hui, tout en y ajoutant cette belle touche d’humour. Bien entendu, tous les titres ont été arrangés, modernisés, astucieusement dynamisés, faisant un lien entre les enfants d’hier, devenus parents, et les enfants d’aujourd’hui qui seront ravis de chanter avec Elmo la fameuse “Elmo’s song” ou encore la chanson “Sing” qui signe le final de cet album, ou encore la réécriture majestueuse de “Pinball Song” dans laquelle un solo de Wynton Marsalis en personne va vous faire chavirer.
Wynton Marsalis a souvent été invité sur Sesame Street et l’artiste rend ici un hommage magistral pour célébrer le 50ème anniversaire de la série historique. Lors d’une célébration Swingin’ Sesame Street, Marsalis et le Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra accueillent l’équipe de Sesame Street dans la House of Swing version big band dans un spectacle très spécial. De quoi vous mettre l’eau à la bouche et rendre hommage aux compositeurs et artistes qui on créé ces petites merveilles:
