Pour son 50ème anniversaire le groupe écossais Nazareth a décidé de faire les choses en grand. En effet ce superbe coffret baptisé “Loud & Proud!” (tirage limité à 5.000 exemplaires… numérotés!) ne présente pas moins que 32 CD dont leurs 23 albums studios remastérisés, 2 albums live ainsi qu’une tonne de titres inédits et de démos.
Ce à quoi il faut rajouter 2 double vinyles, un picture-disc, 3 singles, un livre photos de 52 pages, un poster, des programmes, un auto-collant et une broche.
Une version “plus light” de cette “intégrale” est aussi dispo sous la forme d’une anthologie triple CD (58 titres) ou double vinyle & digital…!
D’une certaine mannière tous les éléments sont réunis pour honorer dignement la fabuleuse (et très honnête) carrière de ce groupe formé en 1968 dans les pubs de Dunfermline. Sans jamais vraiment se soucier des modes ou de l’air du temps, en 50 ans Nazareth a écumé les scènes du monde entier et vendu plus de 20 millions de disques.
C’est ainsi que le groupe nous a offert des hits tels que “Hair of the Dog” (repris en 1994 par Guns N’Roses, mais aussi pas MSG, Britny Fox ou Warrant), leur reprise de “Love Hurts” des Everly Brothers, “This Flight Tonight”, “Bad, Bad Boy” ou encore “Broken Down Angel”.
En fait, on flirte avec Nazareth avec une légende de la scène hard rock britannique, dont les premiers albums ont quand même été produits par Roy Thomas Baker (Queen), Roger Glover (de Deep Purple) ou Jeff Baxter (Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers).

“We were waiting to see if we could give you a definite release date before we announced the title of the new album but excitement has got the better of us, so here you go….Tattooed On My Brain.
The album has 13 tracks, all original songs, and guaranteed to knock your socks off! When we started recording in January we knew we were on to something good but had no idea just how great it would all turn out. This is definitely the one you’ve been waiting for!
Now to the release date…
Although all the tracks are finally mixed, the record has still to be ‘mastered’ and that will happen next week, after which we will deliver all the bits and pieces necessary to manufacture an album to ‘Frontiers’, our record company.
It has been rumoured that there might have been a summer release but that’s out of the question and it’s looking more likely to be mid September or thereabouts. Once I get the date tattooed on my brain I’ll let you know.” – Pete.
