More than ten years after their previous studio recording Dependence, Hamburg electronic act Boytronic has announced the launch of a new album. Entitled Jewel, the upcoming recording has been scheduled for release on 3 November 2017. The first single/video to be released from the album will be ´Mad Love`. The new material also includes a surprising cover version of U2´s ´New Year’s Day`.

Boytronic mark 2017 consist of Hayo Lewerentz and Ingo Hauss, and the latest addition is their new vocalist James Knights who hails from Winchester, UK, and previously made a name for himself with Scarlet Soho, with whom he recorded three albums.

Boytronic have already presented their new line-up on stage several times, most recently at the Electronic Summer Festival in Gothenberg, Sweden, and at the Nocturnal Culture Night in Deutzen, Germany. More live shows have been scheduled to follow the release of Jewel.

“It all started with Ingo and me doing some studio recordings with James a few years ago. It dawned on us that the result was reminiscent of Boytronic,” Hayo Lewerentz explains the inspiration for the group’s comeback. “We really enjoyed writing and recording the material and we’re really happy with the new album.”

Oblivion/SPV label manager Gero Herrde is delighted with his new signing: “Boytronic are the perfect example of the kind of band that – despite several line-up changes – has succeeded not only in sustaining its reputation over decades but in also enhancing it. To me as a child of the electronic side of the 1980s, this signing is also very dear to my heart!”
